There are many definitions, but my favorite comes from the Center for Executive Coaching, where I was trained in the craft of coaching:
“Good coaching is an efficient, high-impact process of dialogue that helps high-performing people improve results in ways that are sustained over time. “
It’s “efficient” - It doesn’t require lengthy reports and analyses to get results. It quickly finds the signal in the noise.
It’s “high-impact” - Results come quickly. In short sessions, you can generate important insights, identify blind spots, gain clarity and make decisions to improve performance.
It requires “dialogue” – A safe space for thought-partnership with an objective, trusted advisor. As a colleague and confidant.
It works with “high-performing people”. It is not therapy, meant to “fix” a person. It raises the effectiveness and well-being of already successful people by helping them see what they may not be able to see on their own.
Lastly, it improves results in ways that are “sustainable” over time. Whether the results are improved performance, higher profits, career success, team effectiveness or overall personal well-being, the objective is always “results that last”.
My job is to teach people to fish. You’ve got the answers. I will help you find them.

The only way we can know for sure is through dialogue.
Chemistry is critical in coaching. Whether you choose to work with me or any other coach, you need to feel comfortable being open and vulnerable. You need to feel heard and seen; like your coach understands your world and your challenges and doesn’t need a tutorial to get up to speed. Ultimately, your coach needs to feel like one of your closest confidants.
From my end, I want to work with successful people who are motivated to improve the quality of their professional journey, increase their impact on the world, and create more happiness and well-being in their life.

While most of my work is with founders of venture-funded tech companies, I also work with successful professionals from a variety of backgrounds who are facing major life transitions.
Across the board, my clients share the common goal of dramatically increasing their impact, fostering their personal growth and living with a greater sense of well-being.

No two client engagements look exactly the same. Our work begins with a complimentary discovery call where we first assess mutual fit. If the fit is there, I will propose an engagement structure that best serves your objectives.
My coaching programs are holistic, immersive and typically require a commitment of 6 months. This ensures that our work together has enough time to create a sustainable impact in your business and life. After our initial coaching period, many clients continue working with me on a monthly-retainer basis to go deeper while others are conclude their coaching program.
Our coaching takes place via Zoom or in my office in Mill Valley, CA (10 minutes north of San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge).

Yes. Our work always begins with a one-to-one relationship. It often evolves, sometimes quickly, to include team coaching. This may take the form of coaching the executive leadership team or your team of direct reports.

I’m so glad you asked! This is one of my favorite areas to coach and can be one of the most impactful areas to invest in on the founders’ journey.
The co-founder relationship is a strange and complicated animal. Unfortunately, it is often treated unintentionally, as all your relationship energy goes to employees, investors, and whoever is shouting the loudest. Not to mention trying to keep your romantic relationships afloat. (PS - I help here, too)
As you scale, so much changes from the early days of the whiteboard and roles and responsibilities can get murky. Yet it can be tough to have the hard conversations so needed.
Intentionally investing in the co-founder relationship can yield immense benefits to both the success of the venture AND your enjoyment of the journey.
